Book holiday villas in Spain to experience Museums Day

People staying in holiday villas in Spain next month will be able to participate in the country's celebrations of International Museums Day.

The occasion will be marked by cultural institutions all over the world on May 18th, three days after Museums Night on May 15th.

Promoted by the International Council of Museums, the initiative aims to make historic and artistic collections accessible to visitors of all ages and highlight the importance of cultural centres in the modern world.

Holiday makers staying in Costa Blanca villas next month might be interested in arranging a trip to Valencia to visit the city's Institute of Modern Art, which will open its doors for free on May 18th.

Several other attractions will participate in the initiative, including the Dali Museum in Figueres and galleries showcasing work by Pablo Picasso in Malaga and Barcelona.

As well as offering free admission and guided tours, the cultural establishments will display a number of works that are not usually on view and host special events including workshops and competitions.

People who choose the Costa Blanca as their destination this year can book holiday villas in Javea, Moraira and other locations along the coast.
