Grab yourself a late deal >Book Costa Blanca villa to enjoy US-style theme park
American company Paramount Pictures has confirmed it will be opening a theme park in Spain, just a short distance from those staying in villas on the Costa Blanca.
The development has been earmarked for Murcia, a few miles south of the heart of the popular holiday area, the movie maker has confirmed.
Although not all of the details are yet available, Alberto Cruz, the regional councillor for culture and tourism in Murica, says "it is the most important project undertaken in the region ever".
The park will contain links to some of the most-famous films produced by Paramount Pictures, with its back catalogue including titles such as Forrest Gump, Mission Impossible, Star Trek and Shrek.
Andalucia and Catauna were also bidding for the rights to the project, but the decision to head to Murcia is one that will make it easy for those taking a Costa Blanca holiday to visit.
John Wilson, writing this week for the Irish Times, recommended the Costa Blanca as home to some of Europe's finest wine.
