Beautiful bodies on show for Costa Blanca holiday makers

Those heading off to enjoy some sunshine on a Costa Blanca villa holiday will be able to see some beautiful bodies in Alicante.

But these particular human forms are not found on the beach but at the MARQ archaeological museum and gallery in Alicante.

The Body Beautiful exhibition has been on display since April and will continue until mid-October this year.

This means that those heading off on Costa Blanca holidays in the autumn will still be able to catch it.

Produced by the British Museum, the exhibition features ancient Greek and Roman statues that explore the human condition.

Discobolus - the famous representation of a discus thrower - is one of the interesting pieces that are on show.

"By exploring ideas of representation, the exhibition invites visitors to engage with artworks that have shaped the way that we think about and look at ourselves," said the British Museum.

Those renting Costa Blanca villas in La Nucia will be able to travel to Alicante to see the exhibition, as the city is just 45 minutes away.

La Nucia is an inland village that hosts a weekly flea market and has a small selection of bars and restaurants. It is also close to the charming town of Altea.
