Are Costa Blanca holidays a British institution?
The nostalgia associated with Spain ensures that the country will always have a special place in UK travellers' hearts, commented Paul Bradley, a spokesperson for the Spanish Property Owners Guild.
"Nearly every Brit has been to Spain as a child and has fond memories of playing on the beach," explained Mr Bradley.
Furthermore, the destination enjoys 320 days of sunshine annually, as well as being easily accessible from the UK, he pointed out.
Indeed, the representative observes that tourism in Spain was up seven per cent last month on the same period last year.
"Spain will continue as a popular venue for both holidays and second home ownership," Mr Bradley said.
Costa Blanca villas received another boost last week when it emerged in Hello! magazine that Colin Farrell was shooting new movie Triage in nearby Alicante.
