Alicante to host iconic Discobolus of Myron
Discobolus of Myron is one of 125 works that will be loaned to the Archaeological Museum of Alicante and it will be on display from April 3rd to October 5th, Typically Spanish reports.
This long run will give plenty of time for avid art lovers in Alicante to view the fabulous Discobulos of Myron - which features a nude discus thrower that is said to be a marble copy of a lost Greek bronze original.
Meanwhile, flight search engine Skyscanner has revealed that Alicante is one of the top three searched-for destinations for the summer of 2009.
With the arrival of the statue, it is not hard to see why and those who stay in the family-friendly resort of Javea, just an hour away from Alicante, will also be treated to a choice of two stunning beaches.
