Alicante 'the cream of the Costa Blanca'

Those looking for quiet relaxation mixed with city sophistication should visit Alicante during their Costa Blanca villa holiday.

According to travel journalist Norman Miller, the city is the cream of the Costa Blanca coast and stands apart from its "brash" neighbour Benidorm.

In an article for the Daily Mail, he said Alicante is both modern and historic, mixing ancient ruins with designer boutiques.

Visitors can take a stroll tough the old town, which is overlooked by the Castillo de Santa Barbara, or relax on the popular Postiguet beach.

They can also walk, drive or take a lift ride up to the top of the mountain where the castle sits, taking in the spectacular views of the coastline below.

"Culture, style and a beautiful beach - Alicante is the Costa Blanca's real package deal," insisted Mr Miller.

Tourists can spend a day exploring Alicante during their Costa Blanca villa holiday. The quiet inland village of La Nucia is just 45 minutes away from the city, so could be a great place to stay.

It is also just a short distance away from the town of Altea and is close to Benidorm for those who want to visit the theme parks and attractions on offer close to the larger resort.
