'Miles of sandy beaches' in Costa Blanca

The Daily Mail reported this week that the popular beach at Guardamar del Segura in Costa Blanca is set to receive "mostly unbroken sunshine" during the next few days. Temperatures hit 32 degrees C earlier this week at the Spanish resort, where the beach was filled with sunbathers.

Villa holiday makers may find that they can escape the crowds by travelling a short drive down the coast where the sandy beaches may be less populated, the newspaper suggested.

Nick Peet of the Liverpool Echo wrote this week that he enjoyed open water swimming and regular five-kilometre runs around the region's golf course while on a villa holiday in Costa Blanca.

Meanwhile, Coronation Street star Bruce Jones - who plays Les Battersby on the long-running soap - recently made a trip to Costa Blanca and said he plans to return to the Spanish holiday destination in November, Round Town News reported.
