'Beautiful time' to book a Costa Blanca villa is the spring
Now is excellent time of year to embark on a Costa Blanca holiday because the first signs of spring are beginning to appear.
This is the recommendation from roundtownnews.co.uk, with says the surrounding countryside boasts fields covered in almond blossoms - something holiday makers often miss out in summer because of the scorching heat.
"The almond blossoms are generally white on the costa but can range from white through to dark pink which determines the quality of the nut," the website said.
"Whatever the colour, the views offer a picture-book scene of nature at its prettiest."
The Jalon Valley is among the best places to see the almond blossoms, with many holiday makers combining their visit to a trip to the local market, which takes place on Saturdays.
A further option is Guadelest, a settlement with a population of just 200 but one that claims to be the Costa Blanca's most-visited village.
It boasts the Castle of L'Alcozaiba, which dates from the 11th century, an impressive 18th-century baroque Catholic church and an historic jail.
