Take a boat trip to Mouse Island on a Corfu villa holiday
In an article for Examiner.com, travel writer Franklin Xuereb explained that Pontikonissi, as it is known in Greek, is situated close to Corfu Town.
He said holiday makers can rent a boat to get out to the island, which is home to a white stone monastery.
Alternatively, tourists could enjoy a drink on a restaurant terrace overlooking the island and view it from there.
And since Mouse Island is close to the runway of Corfu Airport, they can also sit and watch the planes come and go while they relax.
Those keen to visit the tiny island could rent a Corfu villa in Gouvia, which is just a short drive from Corfu Town.
Anyone heading there in July can enjoy some summertime musical entertainment at the Ionian Summer Music Academy.
Free concerts will be taking place at the Town Hall, with genres ranging from classical to jazz.
