'Ghost town' offers spooky sights on a Corfu holiday
What sets Peritihia apart from most villages in Corfu is that it is completely deserted save for a few sheep that have yet to 'give up the ghost'.
However, Travel Page say that Perithia is not a place that causes fear but one with a "mysterious charm" that incites admiration and curiosity.
"The entire village constitutes a unique architectural monument," it says, with locals gradually leaving their homes until it became a "picture of abandonment".
Holiday makers renting a villa in the area of Kokini will find themselves just a short drive from Perithia and the bustling Kassiopi but maybe the best thing about its location is the views that it offers.
On a clear day, travellers looking out of their window can see all the way across to Albania.
