Take a walk in the park on a Brittany villa holiday
Situated on the bank of the River Odet, the formal gardens have belonged to the bishops of Quimper for six centuries and have been restored over the years.
Visitors can wander through the park taking in the meticulously-designed flower displays and the stunning botanical collections.
The gardens are arranged geometrically, featuring numerous terraces and rectangular alleyways.
Quimper is also home to the Trevarez Castle and park, which has numerous themed gardens and floral exhibitions throughout the year.
Plants are grown according to the seasons and displays are changed to reflect the time of year.
Holidaymakers can rent Brittany villas in the coastal village of Moelan sur Mer, which is a short drive from Quimper.
From here, the city of Lorient is also just a 35-minute drive and could make an excellent day trip.
