See 'one of France's great sights' on a Brittany villa holiday
According to travel writer Sid Kaplan, the Mont Saint Michel on the north coast is "absolutely beautiful from a distance".
In an article for Troy Media Corporation, he recommended a visit to the famous French landmark for any tourist visiting the region.
A UNESCO world heritage site, the rocky island is home to a medieval Benedictine Abbey which is surrounded by numerous houses and shops along the lower levels.
Many of the stalls sell souvenirs and trinkets, while others offer treats such as crepes with a variety of delicious toppings.
Mr Kaplan said that a climb to the monastery at the top of the island is well worth it, for the views as well as the architecture.
Holiday makers travelling to Brittany in July and August can enjoy a night-time tour of the abbey and watch a spectacular light and sound show.
Those who are keen to add a trip to the Mont Saint Michel to their Brittany villa holiday itinerary could stay in Huenan.
From here, the landmark is just a short drive away. Huenan is also ideally located for a visit to the historic town of Dinan.
