Brittany holiday offers 'big fun' with Petite Tromenie
Locronan's Petite Tromenie procession weaves its way through the lush countryside in a spectacle that could add colour and to an already brilliant Brittany villa holiday
According to Whatsonwhen, "pilgrims in costume, carrying gold brocaded, silk banners and singing Breton songs, begin a procession through the Locronanaise countryside to a sacred forest clearing, Le Nemeton".
It is reported that the Nemeton's sacred places are scattered across a dozen different sites throughout the forest over a spread of 12 kilometres and the ceremony snakes its way from one site to another "via corn fields, across makeshift bridges and streams, ending at Locranon mountain".
Holiday makers who rent a villa in the traditional Breton town of Huelgoat will be staying in a town that is surrounded by a serene ancient forest
Huelgoat offers the opportunity to really get away from it all, but those with a hire car can also use it as a base to explore Breton's beautiful countryside.
