'Jazz things up' on a Brittany holiday in July

A host of top performers make their way to the walled town of Vannes in south Brittany every year, with Duke Ellington Orchestra and Dee Dee Bridgwater visiting in the past, according to Whatsonwhen.

The site says that since 1980 organisers of the event have delighted tourists and holiday makers under the stars by inviting jazz masters of every style to the town - ranging from rhythm 'n' blues to gospel and funk.

Travellers who elect to rent a villa in the town of Quiberon can enjoy laid-back days at its La Grande Plage - which is home to an array of bars, cafes and restaurants - and take in the Jazz festival in the evening with a trip in their hire car.
