See a giant lizard on an Andalucia holiday
Jaen is home to a giant lizard known as Lagarto de la Magdalena - or at least a monument dedicated to the mythical beast that reportedly used to terrorise the local population.
Lagarto lends its name to many things in the city, including the Lagarto Festival, which this year is held on June 13th.
Jaen can easily be reached by those renting a villa in the beautiful villa of Frigiliana.
Frigiliana is home to a number of fine traditional Spanish restaurants and local shops, while the soaring Sierra de Tejeda mountains act as a beautiful backdrop to a holiday here.
Villas range from one-bedroom properties to six-bedroom rustic dwellings surrounded by pretty gardens and large pools - so they can cater for anyone from couples to large families.
