Nerja food and wine festival
During the month the area of Nerja hosts its very own food and wine festival, giving visitors to the region a chance to sample some of the area's traditional produce.
Serrano ham, manchego cheese, olives and chorizo are just a few of the delicacies available to holidaymakers who visit the costal town.
Tortillas, calamari and paella will all be washed down with a large glass of Rioja as the region celebrates all things to do with food.
According to whatsonwhen.com, a number of food presentations take place alongside talks about the role of wine in the culture of Andalucia, so tourists can expect to leave with full of knowledge as well as food.
Children will be well looked after at the event as activities and special tasks keep them busy while the parents sample some of the region's finest food and wine.
Other speciality dishes from the region include 'de la doncella', Spanish for red mullet.
