Nerja Fair: Andalucia
Visitors holidaying in Andalucia in October would be well advised to take in the delights of the Nerja Fair from the 8th to 12th of the month.
The fair is in honour of the patron saint of Nerja, Nuestra Seo de Angustias, but visitors will not feel unwelcome or alone as tourists and locals mingle during the festivities.
Decorated tents or 'casetas' as they are know are set-up by the town and social groups in the area to house the entertainment which begins in the morning with the parade of the 'feria' queen.
Dancing and music, as in all Spanish festivals, is a big part of the celebrations and fireworks light up the night sky, making the event truly memorable.
Nerja is also home to many other activities that holidaymakers will enjoy, will about 16 kilometres of beaches Nerja provides superb space to top-up the tan and relax, the Balcon de Europa also provides fantastic views from the edge of the cliffs.
The spectacular Nerja Caves are a must-see attraction, and holidaymakers travelling in July will be lucky enough to catch a cultural concert in one of the enormous caverns that has been turned into a concert hall.
