Marbella festival celebrated on Andalucia holiday
The fair pays homage to San Bernabe, the patron saint of the town, and a week of festivities mean there is plenty of time for visitors to make the trip.
A fireworks display starts the festival and the rest of the week is filled with parties and celebrations in the areas of the old town.
Locals dress in traditional clothing and stalls and restaurants keep revellers fuelled with local dishes as the parties continue.
On the final day of the fiesta visitors will see the festival of the Reconquest led by the Spanish monarchs who defeated the Moors to regain control.
A second procession in the afternoon marks the honour of San Bernabe and the end of the summer event.
Travellers taking an Andalucia villa holiday will find the exciting event a good distraction from the private pool.
