Indulge at the Alfarnate Cherry Festival on an Andalucia holiday
Every June, the annual Festival de la Cereza takes place in the lovely village of Alfarnate and you could be there to celebrate the humble cherry with the locals.
According to Andalucia.com, holiday makers can get their hands on large flats of top-quality local cherries at rock-bottom prices.
"As might be expected, this festival includes much more than those most fabulous local cherries", it says, including plenty of free food and drink.
"The people of Alfarnate definitely know how to celebrate the cherry-picking season", the site adds.
What is more, there will be plenty of singing, dancing and sun-kissed traditional Spanish fun, so people renting a villa in Andalucia can really let their hair down.
There will even be a whole host of speeches by locals, giving people a chance to brush up on their knowledge of the local tongue.
Andalucia boasts the longest coastline in Spain, so there are plenty of baking beaches to relax on during the holiday.
