Celebrate the Feast of Saint John on an Andalucia holiday
On June 22nd and 23rd, Malaga erupts with an ancient celebration of the summer solstice which finishes as the clocks strike midnight on the second night of festivities.
The two-day event culminates with a bonfire on the beach as locals and holiday makers renting an Andalucia villa swim in the moonlight. Legend has it that those who take an evening dip at the exact stroke of midnight will be granted eternal beauty.
Also taking place will be dances, parades and singing to keep holiday makers entertained.
Those who rent a villa in Torrox are just a 40 minutes drive from the bustling city of Malaga and the Saint John festivities.
However, those who also like a quiet, relaxing holiday can lie back at their villa in tranquil surroundings off the beaten track and even take a dip or two in their private pool.
