Bonsai Museum: Andalucia
The Bonsai Museum in Marbella, Andalucia, has a fantastic collection of the miniature plants to fascinate green-fingered holidaymakers.
The museum is considered to be one of the best in the world, and contains trees that are over 500 years old.
Visitors can see the 'Chinese Nettle' tree that was in the same Chinese family over five generations and is 300 years old.
Some of the trees are samples of local nature, some of which were near extinction but are now on their way to recovery.
The museum is contained in a modern building within Marbella's Arroyo de la Repressa Park and is built over a small lake in the park which is filled with turtles that often enjoy basking on the rocks.
Visitors can see part of this lake resurface in a water feature inside the museum.
The Bonsai Museum is certainly a surprise and a must-see event for any holiday maker looking for something other than a trip to the beach in Andalucia.
Situated near to the Old Town, the museum is easily accessible for tourists visiting the area and looking to see something different.
