Andalucia holidays 'still top of Brits' wish lists'
According to the Scotsman, the growing diversity of holiday options may not be quelling British appetites for Andalucia holidays or other breaks in the Mediterranean hotspot.
The newspaper spoke to a representative of the Association of British Travel Agents, who said: "If we look at the sheer number of people going, Spain is still the number one top seller."
However, the spokesperson noted that the character of Spanish breaks has evolved since the first UK tourists headed out on package holidays, with travellers today looking for a more sophisticated experience on their Andalucia villa break.
A recent report in the Guardian highlighted the region's excellent horse riding opportunities, noting that the "dramatic views" and "secluded nature reserves" make the location ideal for outdoor activity enthusiasts.
Villa breaks in Nerja may appeal to tourists looking for a combination of striking mountain scenery and relaxing, accessible beaches.
