Andalucia holidays 'a chance to explore history'
According to Scotland on Sunday, a visit to the town of Teba may at first seem to introduce travellers to little more than a picturesque area.
However, the town in fact occupies a "special place in history" that may captivate those on Andalucia holidays.
Key to the historical significance of Teba is its Castillo de la Estrella, which has been a Roman stronghold, a Moorish castle and the dwelling of Spanish king Alfonso XI during its long life.
And in August 1330, Scot James Douglas offered his assistance to the king during his attempt to win the castle.
"We have never forgotten Douglas and we hope to celebrate him and bring more visitors to the area in this way," says culture councillor of Teba Manuel Pina.
Meanwhile, a recent report in the Sunday Times Travel Magazine suggested Granada as a highlight of the region.
