Why not visit Loule's overhauled municipal park when in Algarve villas?

Holiday makers booking up Algarve villas who want to have a relaxing day out around the region without splashing the cash are in luck.

This is because the Loule Town Hall has announced that its municipal park is ready to reopen following a refurbishment.

Next Wednesday (February 1st) will see the Loule attraction once again open to the public, after it was thoroughly overhauled.

Totalling a cost of around €3.4 million (£2.83 million), work carried out includes an 800 metre maintenance circuit being created, as well as a new cultural space featuring Loule's centre for artistic creation and experimentation and its Casa da Cultura.

Parents will also be able to keep their children entertained with a new mini golf course, an overhauled kid's park and a variety of outdoor exercise machines.

The Portugal News reports that the development was conducted "to turn the city's main garden into an attractive place for the population, an area to practise sport or leisure and cultural activities, guaranteeing all the necessary conditions for the infrastructure to function".

Earlier this week, it was revealed that the Algarve has ranked 29th in the top 45 destinations of 2012 in a New York Times readers poll.
