Visit Algarve villas to seek out Portugal's only two Michelin star eateries

Couples hoping for a romantic evening dining out while staying in villas in the Algarve will have plenty of top-class restaurants to choose from.

This is after the latest Michelin Guide revealed that the popular holiday destination is represented by the only two restaurants in the whole of Portugal to have achieved two Michelin stars.

Albufeira's Vila Joya eatery and Ocean, a gourmet restaurant in the Vila Vita Parc resort, both achieved the honour.

There are also a variety of restaurants across the Algarve which boast one prestigious Michelin star for holiday makers still stuck for choice.

People seeking a getaway in Algarve villas near to Almancil should keep an eye out for Sao Gabriel and Henrique Leis, while a trip to Vilamoura allows people to try the treats served up at Willie's restaurant.

A stay in Vilamoura also allows families to enjoy a spot of golf in a variety of the Portuguese resort's championship courses, while the Vilamoura marina packs in a variety of bars and designer shops to please tourists with some money to spend.
