Tourists set to be given a chance to see more of the Algarve

New plans announced by the Portuguese rail company Comboios de Portugal are set to give people a chance to see more of the country while staying in Algarve villas.

A statement sent out by Santiago do Cacem Town Hall in the past week revealed that the inter city trains which connect Faro with Lisbon will now take in new sights.

The Portugal News reports that those taking a journey on this transport will be able to venture along the new Alcacer do Sal line, starting from December 12th.

As a result, people occupying villas in the Algarve can take in such resorts as Ermidas-Sado and Santa Clara while enjoying their getaway.

Furthermore, those planning on taking a day trip to Lisbon from Faro will be pleased to hear that the revised route will cut 30 minutes off the total journey time.

Families who decide to stay in Faro during their time on holiday in the Algarve should take a day out to visit the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve.

The protected site stretches for 60 kilometres along the coast and allows people to get up close to a range of awe-inspiring birds, such as white storks and purple herons.
