Stevenage football team enjoy holiday break in the Algarve
The Stevenage football squad have sought out resorts in the Algarve in order to relax following a packed fixture list.
A trip to the Portuguese hot spot was chosen upon after Boro had played games on Saturdays and Tuesdays for eight out of the past nine weeks.
Speaking to The Comet 24, Craig Reed, the star striker of Stevenage, was upbeat about the trip to the Algarve.
He explained: "It was nice to get out there for a couple of days. We all played a bit of golf, sat by the pool, relaxed."
The club are now hoping to capitalise on their well-deserved break in order to secure promotion to League One.
With just six games left to play in the 2010/11 campaign, the team sit in fifth position and just three points from an automatic promotion spot, following a run of six wins in a row.
Holiday makers looking towards travelling to Algarve villas themselves this summer will be pleased to hear that Ryanair has opened up new flights to the hot spot from Robin Hood Airport.
