Seville could be ideal excursion from villa in Algarve
People staying at a villa in the Algarve in the future may wish to consider the possibility of crossing the border into Spain and visiting the city of Seville, located just a few miles from the Portugese coast.
Annie Bennett, writing an article for the Daily Telegraph, admits the destination is a particularly cultural and beautiful one.
She details her experience of visiting the city, including the sight of palm trees silhouetted against bright sky and masterpieces such as the Plaza de Espana.
The travel writer goes on to note the arrival of a gourmet food market as a highlight of the trip.
However, what is perhaps even more intriguing is the fact that when the market was being created, remains of the Castillo de San Jorge – the seat of the Spanish Inquisition – were discovered.
Jack Fagan, author of an article in the Irish Times, recently urged people staying in the Algarve to venture further afield in order to soak up local culture.
