See some modern art on an Algarve villa holiday
People planning Algarve villa holidays this summer might be interested in adding some culture to their trip by visiting an exhibition in Faro.
A display celebrating the work of Rene Bertholo, entitled Passaro em Terra, opened at Milreu Ruins in the town of Estoi in April and will run until September 29th.
According to the organisers of the show, Bertholo created work that is now seen as some of the most complex and original of his generation.
He studied at the College of Fine Arts in Lisbon and went on to enjoy a productive career that included exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and an institute of the same name in Paris.
The Bertholo exhibition was organised as part of the Allgarve '10 cultural season, which will feature a number of special shows and events for people to attend during Algarve villa holidays.
Musicians set to perform in the region this year include Gabriella Cilmi, who will appear at Alcoutim River Quay on July 3rd, and Diana Krall, who will play in Loule on July 24th.
