Run for charity when in Algarve villas
People who take last minute flights to villas in the Algarve may be able to take part in an event to raise funds for charity.
The Mamamaratona Race for Life 2011 event is set to occur across the Portuguese region of Portimao on October 16th.
Adults can participate in the run for just €5 (£4.33) and each child costs €3, with proceeds going towards the Algarve Cancer Association AOA.
Holiday makers of all fitness levels will be able to feel comfortable by taking part, seeing as though they can choose between an eight-kilometre run or a less demanding five-kilometre walk.
Plus, the fact that this year's Mamamaratona Race for Life begins at Portimao's old fish docks and goes along the Arade River means that there are plenty of eye-catching scenes to be seen.
Other sporting pursuits available for families to enjoy while staying in Algarve villas include the chance to play a spot of golf in the region's vast array of pristine courses or go fishing along the river.
