New tourist office to improve Algarve holidays

Holiday makers can make sure they get the most out of their Algarve villa break this summer by visiting a new tourist information office in Lagos.

The centre opened last week at Praca Gil Eanes, one of the city's main squares, the Algarve Resident reported.

A special ceremony was arranged to mark the opening of the office, with secretary of state for tourism Bernardo Trindade and Lagos mayor Julio Barroso among the attendees.

People taking Algarve villa holidays can visit the site to learn more about Lagos and the surrounding areas, buy tickets for entertainment events, purchase souvenirs and find out what activities are on offer in the region.

The centre will be open every day from 09:30 to 20:30 local time.

Lagos is a city and municipality located on the Atlantic coast in south-west Portugal.

People who visit the destination during an Algarve villa holiday can see sights such as the fort of Ponta da Bandeira or spend some time by the sea at beaches such as Dona Ana, Praia da Luz and Meia Praia.
