Moorish Nights to add colour to Algarve holidays
There will be some colourful entertainment on offer to people taking Algarve villa holidays this summer when a popular festival returns to the region.
Moorish Nights will take place in the village of Cacela Velha towards the end of July.
It features a number of celebrations and events that celebrate the area's ancient history and recreate the atmosphere and colour that characterised the region between the tenth and 13th centuries.
Holiday makers staying in Algarve villas can pay a visit to Cacela Velha to browse through markets selling all sorts of gifts, souvenirs, food and drink.
The range of cuisine on offer during the festival includes chicken and almond pasties, traditional soup and green tea, according to Whatsonwhen, the worldwide events guide provided by Frommer's.
Visitors will also be able to enjoy folk music performances, dance shows and much more during the Moorish Nights celebrations.
There will be several events and festivals on offer to people planning Algarve holidays over the coming months, such as the Silves Medieval Fair in August, which is one of the region's most popular annual traditions.
