Massage your troubles away on an Algarve holiday

The Algarve may be famous for its sandy beaches and its championship golf courses, but it is also now gaining a reputation for its relaxing spas.

In an article for the Mirror, Jan Disley said Thalasso therapies and body treatments are widely available on the Portuguese region.

This may be good news for those travelling with golfing enthusiasts, as they can enjoy some relaxing massages and facials while their companions hit the greens.

"Five-star hotels with more pools than you can shake a stick at are now spending fortunes on purpose-built health clubs," Ms Disley pointed out.

One of these is the As Cascatas Leisure Resort, where holiday makers can rent their own Algarve villas.

Its spa is one of the largest in Portugal and offers a wide range of treatments.

Set amongst beautiful gardens, the resort is also home to some large swimming pools and water cascades surrounded by sun loungers.

Of course golf courses are never far away in the Algarve and there are five of them located within minutes of As Cascatas.
