Holidays to the Algarve 'to be popular in 2012'
Holiday makers are set to head to villas in the Algarve in their droves, if the predictions of one travel expert are anything to go by.
Bob Atkinson, a travel expert at TravelSupermarket, believes that Portugal getaways will be in demand throughout 2012, along with Italy, Ireland, Greece and Spain.
He pointed out that despite the economic crisis in these countries, great value holidays are being offered by the shedload, including value-for-money shopping experiences and an evening out which does not break the bank.
"In tough economic times Brits often return to known quantities, so this will drive an interest in these destinations. Once Brits see the great offers available, they'll be flocking to these ever-popular countries," Mr Atkinson also acknowledged.
Once settled into Algarve villas, families may be wise to head along to Albufeira's Vila Joya eatery or Vila Vita Parc's Ocean restaurant to enjoy tasty bites, after both venues were recently awarded two Michelin stars following the release of the latest Michelin Guide.
