An Algarve holiday literally has something to entertain holiday makers of all ages, from secluded sandy beaches to family attractions.
Writing for the News of the World, Clare Leckie recommended families on holidays in the Algarve visit the Slide & Splash water park and Zoomarine, which have plenty to keep both little and big kids entertained.
The Zoomarine wildlife park was said to be the only one of its kind in Portugal, boasting a dolphin show, sea lines and birds of prey.
"If you want to experience something extra special, Dolphin Emotions is the perfect treat where you get cuddles and kisses from these beautiful animals along with a ride on their back," Ms Leckie said.
Slide & Splash, meanwhile, was described as not being for the feint hearted, with its adrenalin-fuelled Black Hole and Kamikaze waterslides.
Those looking for the quieter side of an Algarve holiday were advised to try one of the region's 30 golf courses.
The Royal Golf Course, which was recently named as one of the best by Exec Digital, is a must for those staying in Almancil villas.
