Holidays in Portugal 'can be family friendly'

Brits have been advised to consider going on holiday in Portugal, such as by booking up villas in the Algarve, to enjoy a getaway without spending too much cash.

This was the advice given by Amanda Lamb, speaking on behalf of MasterCard Prepaid, who acknowledged that the short distance from the UK also falls in favour of the destination.

She explained: "Places like Portugal and Spain are fantastic, particularly if you've got children because they are not very long flights, so you don't end up going slightly doolally before the end of it."

Ms Lamb went on to recommend that when it comes to people planning a trip overseas, perhaps to Algarve villas, they should "be a bit adventurous" with their choices.

This includes having specific plans in place on when Brits want to travel, but holding back to the last minute to tray and find the cheapest prices.

Music lovers may want to mark September 10th in their diaries when travelling to the Algarve, as the Portuguese hot spot's resort of Ourique is hosting Musica Classica then, according to Algarvedailynews.com.
