Head to the Algarve for the Fisherman's Festival

The event is a celebration of the region's fishing industry that pays homage to those who spend their lives working at sea.

Held in the popular resort of Albufeira, it will offer holiday makers in the Algarve at this time the opportunity to sample some of the region's delicious catches.

Tourists will be able to browse numerous stalls set out along the harbour selling a wide variety of fresh seafood.

Albufeira's restaurants will also have plenty of fish dishes on the menu, with tables overlooking the ocean.

Families hoping to join in the celebrations could book an Algarve villa in Guia, just five kilometres to the west of Albufeira.

The village is also close to the Zoomarine aqua park and a large shopping centre complete with a multi-screen cinema.

Evenings can be spent trying out the different bars and restaurants in Albufeira itself.
