Gyotaku exhibition to be held in the Algarve
Lovers of all things art may be interested in heading to villas in the Algarve later this month.
That is because the popular Portuguese destination will play host to an exhibition by artist Rachel Ramirez, who chooses to hone her skills in the technique of gyotaku.
According to the Algarve Daily News, people can witness Ms Ramirez's work at the Galeria Corte-Real on September 17th and 18th.
Gyotaku is a strategy where actual forms of underwater animals and plants are used as print materials, in order to create exceptional replicas of the originals.
First established in Japan during the 19th century, the concept spread across western countries after being used by scientific illustrators based at Washington DC's Smithsonian Institute.
Brits more interested in taking golfing holidays may also want to snap up Algarve villas, seeing as though the region is home to such dazzling attractions as Vale de Lobo's Ocean Golf Course and Quinta do Lago, a complex found near Almancil.
