Golfers who take a holiday in the Algarve, one of the sport's premier destinations, could play a round on a course designed by Christy O'Connor Jr this winter.
The ex-pro has crafted 18 holes at a resort not far from Faro Airport, described by one journalist as a "picturesque parkland trail".
Mark Kendall, reviewing the circuit for Sky Sports, says it runs through flat land in a valley and is renowned for its beauty and eye-catching scenery.
"O'Connor has taken trouble to ensure the course synchronises with the environment that surrounds it and that is illustrated no better than at the second par-five, the fifth," the writer states.
On this hole, players drive through the centre of rows of orange trees, making it a "beauty to play", says Mr Kendall.
Budget airline Monarch has been running a deal in recent days offering cheap flights to the Algarve this winter, with the Daily Telegraph naming it as one of its Deals of the Day.
