Discover Portugal on foot during an Algarve holiday
Use your own two feet while on an Algarve holiday and discover for yourself the beauty of the region and what it has to offer.
People have the option of walking above the River Algibre with the Moonlight Services company, the Portugal News reports.
Taking on average two hours, the walk offers people a peaceful and laidback way to view the Portuguese countryside.
The news provider describes the journey as venturing "above the valley with great views over unspoilt countryside.
"The spring flowers are starting to appear together with the almond blossom."
Another option is a two-and-a-half hour circular walk from Poco Barretto, passing the rice fields that are home to herons and egrets, and through orange groves on the second half of the journey.
People do not have to book for the walking tour according to the Portugal News, but simply need to arrive wearing comfortable shoes, water and bearing a "sense of humour".
The Algarve is known for its stunning climate and beautiful beaches. Further inland people can discover unspoilt villages and rural countryside perfect for hiking, cycling and horse riding.
