Choosing right destination 'can cut cost of villa holidays'
Britons planning villa holidays and other breaks abroad have been reminded of the potential cost benefits of choosing the destination that best suits their needs.
Alistair Rennie, a spokesman for Post Office Travel Money, said that many consumers have a tendency to focus mainly on flight and accommodation costs when planning a trip.
Those who take other factors into account - such as exchange rates and the price of popular holiday products - could see a significant financial benefit.
"There's quite a lot of money to be saved by choosing the right destination," Mr Rennie said.
Algarve villa breaks and holidays to Spain could prove particularly popular among financially savvy travellers this summer, following a substantial fall in prices over the past year.
"Portugal and Spain are the most popular destinations. In Portugal, for example, prices are down 30 per cent compared to last year, specifically in the Algarve, a meal costs almost half of what it cost last year," Mr Rennie commented.
People who choose Algarve holidays can rent villas in Lagos, Carvoeiro or Albufeira to ensure they have a comfortable stay.
