Celebrate Portugal's history when occupying Algarve villas
Holiday makers will have plenty of chances to celebrate the history and culture of Portugal when staying in Algarve villas.
The region is putting on a host of events over the summer months, which are sure to prove attractive to tourists.
First up in June is Portugal Day, which is actually celebrated in the Algarve region of Faro over nine days.
Brits will be able to witness concerts by the nation's armed forces orchestras and bands in celebration of the country, its residents and the famous poet Camoes.
The following month, those booking villas in the Algarve may want to check out the village of Cacela Velha, which will undergo a recreation to remember the Arab presence in the region between the 10th and 13th centuries.
Some of the attractions on offer include the chance to buy goods from the traditional souk market, as well as gastronomy and dance events to entertain the whole family.
