There will be some high-class musical entertainment on offer to Algarve villa guests this year as part of the Allgarve 2010 cultural programme.

American jazz singer Dianne Reeves will give a live performance in Portimao on May 16th.

Reeves is one of the most significant figures on the contemporary jazz scene and is well known for her dynamic, soulful live performances.

She has received four Grammy Awards during a distinguished career, including Best Jazz Vocal Performance accolades for her albums In the Moment, The Calling and A Little Moonlight.

The singer was also honoured for her work on the soundtrack for Good Night, and Good Luck, the 2005 film directed by and starring George Clooney.

People planning Algarve villa holidays this year will have the opportunity to attend all sorts of live events and shows, including a gig by another jazz vocalist, Stacey Kent, at the Lagoa Auditorium on April 1st.

The Allgarve 2010 season will also encompass the World Touring Car Championship on July 3rd and 4th, among other offerings to interest sports fans.
