Carvoeiro 'is perfect spot for a charismatic Algarve holiday'
People planning to take a holiday in the Algarve have been advised to consider the resort of Carvoeiro, which is said to be full of character and charm.
Indeed, Gill Charlton, writing for the Daily Telegraph, says the town is one of the top ten reasons to visit Portugal in 2011.
She says it is rightly popular with families, as it is safer than the large resorts to be found in the region but big enough to offer ample entertainment and facilities.
The expert notes Carvoeiro is home to a number of good music bars and restaurants, with fish eateries especially prevalent.
While Ms Charlton admits the local beach can get overcrowded at times during the summer peak, those on holiday in the Algarve should not be concerned as there is a wealth of beautiful coastline to choose from nearby.
Tom Hall, travel editor at Lonely Planet, last week urged tourists to stray inland if they would like to enjoy an authentic taste of Portugal.
