Britons could be planning breaks in Algarve villas
Villas in the Algarve could be the subject of a spate of bookings in the weeks to come, as more people intend to take a break.
Bob Atkinson, travel expert at Travelsupermarket.com, predicts a large number of individuals are planning to get away, despite the bleak economic outlook.
He suggests many view a holiday as "sacrosanct" and will not go without it under any circumstances.
However, there will be minor changes in the way tourists go about securing their next vacation.
"In a year when many people are cutting back spending, they will be looking at getting in deals early and taking advantage of the early booking deals," states Mr Atkinson.
And one of the destinations to benefit from such a trend could be the Algarve, where villas are available to provide a luxury base for a trip abroad.
Nuno Aires, president of the Algarve Tourism Board, recently suggested Ria Formosa Natural Park is a must-visit spot in the region.
