Book an Algarve villa holiday for a 'proper family destination'
People who have experienced an Algarve holiday will understand why former England rugby international Austin Healey describes it as his "heaven on earth".
Writing in the Telegraph, Healey states that the Portugal region is a "proper family holiday destination", where he can spend quality time with his wife and four children.
"The sort of place where you go to the beach with the kids in your shorts and T-shirt, have lunch on the beach, spend the afternoon there, then finally go back to your hotel or villa for dinner," he writes.
An appreciation of the Portuguese food was also a factor contributing to his love affair with Algarve, in particular a dish called the Algarvean Pot – consisting of prawns cooked in oil with garlic and chillies, topped with potatoes.
Algarve is renowned for being an ideal family holiday destination, with its abundance of leisure activities, golden sandy beaches, and a variety of shops and restaurants.
Water parks are bound to be popular with the younger members of the family, and those who are tired of the beach can visit the aquatic centre with live shows and performances.
