Book an Algarve villa holiday and experience a musical extravaganza
People who have booked an Algarve villa holiday in June have a chance to see a world-renowned music and cultural festival.
The annual Festival Med celebration brings together world music stars from Morocco, Spain, Italy, Greece and Portugal in a five-day gala.
Held in the small historic town of Loule, about 10km from the coastline of Algarve, the event also includes dance performances, handicraft exhibitions and street theatre.
According to the festival website, it was one of the nominees for the category of Best Cultural Event at the 2009 Gala of Events.
"With the city decked out in warm colours, this five-day annual event offers a line up of multifaceted experiences in which music takes pride of place," states the website.
While not attending the music extravaganza, Algarve holiday makers may wish to head inland and discover the charming villages and vineyards for a relaxing day out and a taste of traditional Portugal.
Finish the day at one of the many restaurants on offer to sample the region's delicacies, such as Piri-Piri chicken or grilled sardines.
