Book an Algarve holiday and observe nature's treasures
Algarve holidays are popular with beach lovers and water sports enthusiasts, but wildlife fans could also find something to excite them in the region.
According to the official tourism website for the Algarve, it is full of nature's treasures, as its climatic conditions support a varied eco-system.
Many of the plants and animals holiday makers will see are indigenous to the Algarve, so it is well worth getting out and about.
In the Barrocal region tourists will find wild orchids and centuries old trees, as well as numerous species of birds.
Ria Formosa Natural Park and the Castro Marim Nature Reserve are excellent places to spot birdlife.
The portal said there are plenty of outings organised by local environmental associations that holiday makers can enjoy.
Families renting Algarve villas in Algoz will be in a great location to spot some indigenous wildlife, as the village lies inland and is surrounded by countryside.
For history buffs, Silves is just a short drive away with its ancient castle, while beach lovers will be able to find golden sands 15 minutes away on the coast.
