Birds flock to the Algarve
It has been claimed Portugal boasts over 300 bird species in their natural habitat - and you could be there with your binoculars to spot them all.
According to Turismo de Portugal, the country's year-round temperate climate, diverse landscape and varied range of flora and fauna make it a "world-class bird-watching destination".
The organisation asks: "Why not complement your next beach holiday, golfing trip, or city break to Portugal with the unique experience of observing the countrys rich birdlife?"
Natural habitats in Portugal include mountain ranges, estuaries, cork oak plantations and coastal lagoons.
Holiday makers who wish to rent a villa to take advantage of these habitats could stay in Aljezur.
Aljezur can be found in one of Europe's most beautiful nature parks. Meanwhile, beach bums can relax on one of many unspoilt beaches in the area.
