Beaches being improved for people on Algarve holidays
Holiday makers staying in Algarve villas this summer will see the benefit of improvement work being carried out at a number of beaches.
The local authority in Lagos is working with the regional water authority to improve access and safety at the beaches of Dona Ana and Porto de Mos, the Algarve Resident reported.
A project to renovate the steps leading to Dona Ana beach has been given the green light and is set to be completed over the coming weeks.
There are also plans to improve road access and create a new parking area later in the year.
Dona Ana and Porto de Mos are among seven beaches in the Lagos area that have been awarded a Blue Flag that reflects their water quality, environmental management and safety.
People taking Algarve holidays can also visit the Blue Flag beaches of Batata, Camilo and Meia Praia in Lagos.
Guests staying in villas in Albufeira have easy access to coastal hotspots such as Evaristo, Oura and Salgados.
